Privateer Feast 2010: Raising the BAR - tix on sale Jan 11th

Sunday, January 10, 2010, 02:51 AM EST [General]

    AHOY THERE, MATEY!

Team Wench will hold its ninth annual Privateer Feast 'To Save the Treasured Chest' benefitting Breast Cancer Awareness and Research on Saturday, February 27th, 2010 so get ready for another incredible voyage! We set sail at 6:00 p.m. and keep going until 10:30 p.m. That's an extra half hour of Food, Fun and Drink!

We also have a new port for this year's Feast. It's the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company (VFC) in Severna Park, Maryland. It's a larger venue with a huge Galley, a huge Hold for the Grog, a Quarterdeck that will give the entire Crew a great view of our Entertainers and a Main Deck big enough hold nearly twice as many Pirates and with more room to set up yer feast gear. And there's plenty of up close places where ye can drop yer anchor!

There's one more change you'll want to know about and it has to do with the Grog. It's Back! There will be beer, sangria and maybe some cider available at the Bar along with the usual sodas, water and coffee. If you prefer stronger spirits, you're still welcome to bring the libation of your choice.

Feast tickets go on sale on Monday, January 11 at Noon for an Early Bird price of the same $50 they have been for the last four years.

Be sure to buy your tickets before Wednesday, January 27 at 11:59 p.m EST to get the Early Bird price. If you wait until after that time you can still buy Feast tickets, but at the Regular price of $60. Tickets will be available at this price until Wednesday, February 24 at 6:00 p.m EST.

    It will be the event of the winter so be sure not to miss;

    * A stage full of Amazing Entertainment,
    * Some of the most Fantastic Booty ever seen in our infamous Bag Raffle & at the Swag Table,
    * The Breast Cancer Awareness table to see the ways your generosity makes a difference,
    * Completely new menu (Look for the full menu and ingredient listings coming soon),
    * And... Once again the *Free* Grog will flow!

Help charities/schools for free while holiday shopping online

Monday, December 1, 2008, 03:10 PM EST [General]

I know that many of us are planning to use the internet for our holiday shopping (well, for those things we didn't grab up at the renn faire at least).

So, don't forget Goodsearch.com when doing your holiday shopping this year! Why? The site is powered by Yahoo, so you get the same results but a penny is sent to a benefitting charity of your choice for each search performed! Just choose the charity or school before you perform your search (ex: Books For Soldiers, American Heart Assoc., etc). There are 100s of registered charities and schools.

Plus!! You can also use the GoodShop feature on Goodsearch to make  purchases at all your favorite online stores (Amazon, Target, Macy's, Wal-mart, Best Buy and more). GoodShop/Goodsearch will donate a % of your shopping total to your benefitting charity (at no additional cost to you).

And for those travelling, you can use GoodShop to get to Expedia, Hotels.com and such. Again, a % of your travel costs will be donated to your charity/school (at no cost to you). Imagine how quickly that could add up!

    Happy Shopping!!
